Philosophy + History
The office of Kauffmann Theilig was founded in 1988 by Andreas Theilig and Dieter Ben Kauffmann. Rainer Lenz (since 1995) and Manfred Ehrle (1998-2005) were appointed partners. Kauffmann Theilig & Partner Freie Architekten BDA and since 2001 KTP Generalplaner GmbH plan and realize projects of various scales worldwide in the entire field of building and exhibition design.
 
We obtain business through our proven expertise, cooperative proceedings, and self-motivated participation in open and invited competitions. Our global outlook and established working methods afford us the possibility to advise our clients from the very onset of projects.
 
We care for intense collaboration in-house and with other planning offices from the fields of structural design and engineering, technical equipment, acoustics, lighting, thermodynamics, in addition to communication, graphic design and event technology. Our objective is to generate integrated architectural solutions within an interdisciplinary framework.
 
The architectural design and development of concepts are always based on the specifics of site, the requirements at hand, the complexity of all considerations and the exploitation of technical resources to create powerful, contemporary solutions. In 2005, "Strategies and Buildings of Kauffmann Theilig & Partner" was released to the German public, and reveals our architectural attitude and exemplarily describes and illustrates our unique process of building-design.
